It would be great if, when loading video content, a subtitles file could also be loaded and the media player within the LMS gave the viewer an option to toggle closed captions on or off. This would help with offering accessibility options to users.
When we load a video into the LMS there is no option to load a subtitles file (SRT / VTT). When a video is played, there is no "CC" option for the user to select. This means that unless subtitles are burnt into the video, meaning everybody has to watch the subtitles, then you can't offer subtitles. As I don't want to distract all viewers with subtitles, I use Articulate to create a subtitle option for the user and load it into the LMS as e-Learning rather than a video. This means the learning is classified within the system as e-Learning rather than as a video.
Hello,
Thank you for your feedback. We are currently assessing our accessibility requirements and will be sure to consider this as part of that investigation.
Best wishes
