So Access LMS allows us to enable 'discussions' like the old site, but we cannot find the menu/list? How daft and AI seems to agree too, I have had a very long discussion with AI with no suitable outcome. So many flaws in the new site still, was it not tested fully before release?
Access Digital Assistant response:
You're right to be frustrated - this appears to be a limitation in Access LMS Evo's current design. The discussions feature is enabled at the site level but lacks a centralised management interface for administrators. Currently, discussions can only be accessed through individual modules in Finder, where you'll see a discussions icon when viewing content if discussions are enabled on those specific activities. This means there's no efficient way to view all discussions across your site in one location.
The discussions functionality allows users to start discussions about modules and general topics, but the administrative oversight appears to be limited to the individual activity level rather than providing the centralised management view that would be practical for efficiently assisting with queries.
This seems to be a gap in the current Access LMS Evo interface design - whilst the feature exists and can be configured, the administrative tools for managing discussions efficiently haven't been implemented in the same way as other management areas like email management.
Hi Amanda,
Thanks for raising this idea — we really appreciate your input, as it helps us gauge interest and better understand what matters most to our customers.
Discussions haven’t been brought into the new UI at this time, as they were used infrequently across the platform. While the option to comment on individual content remains available and previous discussions can still be accessed via those items, a centralised view isn’t currently planned in its previous format.
We’re still actively building out the new UI, so some legacy features will continue to sit alongside the new experience for now. The ideas portal is a valuable tool for capturing customer needs, and while not every feature will return in the same way — your feedback helps us explore opportunities to reimagine functionality where it adds value.
If you'd like to chat further about this or any other ideas, I’d be happy to set up a call — just let me know.
Warm regards,
Kirstie
